Excursion to the Fayoum Oasis

Head south from Cairo to explore the Fayoum Oasis, where history and nature converge.

Itinerary

After hotel pickup, we will travel south to experience the fertile landscape of the Fayoum Oasis. This region is significant in history, evidenced by the Meidum Pyramid, one of the oldest pharaonic pyramids, dating from around 2,600 BC.

We will proceed through the city of Fayoum to Lake Qarun, a key area of the Oasis. Its salty waters are located below sea level and cover several hundred square kilometers. We will visit the Kas Karun archaeological site, which features an ancient settlement with temples and fortresses from various historical periods.

Lunch will be enjoyed on the banks of Lake Qarun, allowing us to appreciate the local fauna, particularly its diverse bird population. In the evening, we will start the return journey to the hotels in Cairo.
