Excursion to the Fayoum Oasis

Head south from Cairo to find the Fayoum Oasis, a space where history and nature meet.

Itinerary

After hotel pickup, we will proceed south to the Fayoum Oasis, which encompasses a fertile landscape. This area has historical significance, evidenced by the Meidum Pyramid, one of the oldest pharaonic pyramids, dating from around 2,600 BC.

We will then travel through the city of Fayoum and reach Lake Qarun, a significant area within the Oasis. The lake's salty waters are situated below sea level and cover several hundred square kilometers. On its banks, we will visit the Kas Karun archaeological site, where remnants of temples and fortresses from various historical periods are located.

A lunch will be served on the banks of Lake Qarun, where we can observe the local fauna, particularly its diverse bird population. In the evening, we will begin our return journey to the hotels in Cairo.
