Excursion to the Fayoum Oasis

Head south from Cairo to discover the Fayoum Oasis, a unique natural space where history and nature converge.

Itinerary

After pickup at your hotel, we will travel south to explore the Fayoum Oasis and its fertile landscape. This area, rich in history, features the Meidum Pyramid, one of the oldest pharaonic pyramids, dating back to around 2,600 BC.

We will pass through the city of Fayoum and arrive at Lake Qarun, an essential part of the Oasis. This lake, with its salty waters, is situated below sea level and covers an expansive area of several hundred square kilometers. Here, we will visit the Kas Karun archaeological site, which contains remnants of temples and fortresses from various historical periods.

Lunch will be served on the banks of Lake Qarun, providing an opportunity to observe the local fauna, particularly the numerous bird species. In the evening, we will begin the return journey to your hotels in Cairo.
