Museum's History

The museum's construction project began in 1990, with actual work starting in the early 2000s.

What's Inside the Museum?

Once the museum is fully opened, you will be able to visit:

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your hotel in Cairo or Giza and transport you to the GEM in an air-conditioned vehicle.

The 2-hour tour will begin with the hanging obelisk dedicated to Ramesses II outside the museum. Inside, in the Grand Hall, you will see a 12-metre tall statue of Ramesses II, 10 Senusret I statues, and other significant artifacts.

Moving to the Grand Staircase gallery, you will appreciate sculptures related to the journey to eternity and enjoy views of the Pyramids of Giza from a glass space. The tour will conclude at the museum's gift shop before returning to your hotel.

The total duration of the experience is between 3 and 4 hours.
