Historic Tour of the Fatimid Caliphate's Cairo

Discover some of the most famous and incredible places and monuments in Cairo, leaving the traditional tours behind.

Itinerary

After picking you up from your hotel at the designated time, we will head to Midan Al Qalaa, in the historic center of Cairo.

Our first stop will be the Al-Rifai Mosque, also known as the Royal Mosque, a modern mosque from the 19th century.

Nearby is the Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, built in 1361, one of the grandest buildings from the Mamluk period, an era of Ottoman influence in Egypt.

Next, we will visit the Ibn Tulun Mosque, the largest and oldest mosque in the city, constructed between 876 and 879 in the old city of Al-Qatta´i by Ahmad Ibn Tulun.

After exploring the mosques, we will have lunch at a typical restaurant, with a menu that includes various salads, a main dish (beef, fish, or chicken), rice, pasta, vegetables, and a selection of desserts and fruit.

The tour continues to the Gayer-Anderson Museum and passing by the famous city walls, noted for their number of monuments from that era globally.

At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel, approximately 5 hours after the initial pickup.
