Wadi El Natrun Monasteries and El Alamein Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Cairo, we will travel to the desert area of Wadi El Natrun, approximately two hours from the capital.
Our first stop is at the Monastery of Saint Pishoy, where we will learn about the history of the saint who founded the abbey and why certain aspects of this history may have been omitted.
Next, we will visit the Monastery of Saint Mary Deipara, also known as the Syrian monastery, dedicated to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. Here, we will admire numerous visual artifacts, including exquisite frescoes.
Following this, we will head to Deir Baramos, identified as "the monastery of the Romans." During our visit, we will discuss the history of its founders, princes Maximus and Domitius.
From Deir Baramos, we will proceed to El Alamein, an important site from World War II. We will visit the city's Military Museum and view various tanks and weapons. Additionally, we will pay our respects at the War Cemetery, resting place of soldiers who lost their lives.
After a short break for refreshments, we will return to Cairo and drop you at your hotel.
