Wadi El Natrun Monasteries and El Alamein Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in Cairo, we'll travel to Wadi El Natrun, located about two hours from the capital.
Our first stop is at the Monastery of Saint Pishoy. We'll learn about the history of the saint who founded the abbey, including the circumstances surrounding it.
Next, we visit the Monastery of Saint Mary Deipara, known as the Syrian monastery, dedicated to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. Inside, we'll admire various visual artifacts, including frescoes on the ceilings.
Our next stop is Deir Baramos, known as "the monastery of the Romans." During the visit, we'll learn about the founders, princes Maximus and Domitius.
From Deir Baramos, we head to El Alamein, a coastal town connected to a significant World War II battle. We will visit the Military Museum to see tanks and weapons used in warfare, and the War Cemetery, where fallen soldiers are laid to rest.
After a quick break for rest and food, we will return to Cairo and drop you at your hotel.
