Kandy Temples Trip

Discover the great tradition of Buddhism in Sri Lanka with this tour of the most important temples in Kandy. You will visit the magnificent shrines of Embekke Devalaya, Lankatilaka Rajamaha Viharaya, and Gadaladeniya Viharaya.

Kandy Temples Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 am. There, we will get into an air-conditioned vehicle and set off through the streets of Kandy to discover the importance of Sri Lanka's Buddhist religion.

Our first visit is at the Gadaladeniya Viharaya temple, built by King Bhuvanekabahu IV entirely of stone.

We then continue the tour by heading through the picturesque rice fields of the area en route to the Lankatilaka Rajamaha Viharaya temple. Once there, we will explore this ancient sacred building and learn about the customs and rituals of Buddhism.

Finally, we will go to the Embekke Devalaya temple, built by King Vikramabahu III in honor of King Mahasena. There we will tour its three main areas: the Garagha shrine, the dance hall, and the drummers' hall.

Finally, we will take you back to your hotel, where we arrive at 5:30 pm.
