Activity Details

Pick-up will be from your hotel in Kandy for a 2.5-hour minibus journey to Minneriya National Park, a key natural space in Sri Lanka.

Upon arrival, you will board a jeep to begin theMinneriya photograph safari around the wetlands of this protected area, known for its ecological value and diverse wildlife, includingcrocodiles, monkeys, and slow loris.

After a picnic stop, the safari will focus on the renownedMinneriya elephants, which can weigh up to five tonnes and are typically found in small herds throughout the park.

In addition to the elephants, the safari aims to observe various species of Asian birds, including pelicans, herons, and ibises, sharing the park's lakes with Ceylon buffalos, known for their peaceful nature despite their size.

At the conclusion of the safari, you will return to the minibus and depart for Kandy, with an overall duration of 8.5 hours.
