Asian elephants, hundreds of birds, and many other species await you at Kaudulla National Park. Discover its wildlife with this private photographic safari from Kandy.

Activity Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kandy and take a 2.5-hour journey by minibus to Kaudulla National Park. At the entrance, we'll get on a jeep to start the Kaudulla safari. During the three-hour drive, we'll discover the reserve's important ecological value, which is an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area), containing 160 species of birds, 24 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles, and 26 species of fish. You will encounter birds such as cranes, peacocks, and pelicans.

We'll stop at a picnic area, so please pack lunch. In the afternoon, the safari will continue through areas with a high number of Asian elephants. Although endangered, Sri Lanka preserves a significant herd of this mammal. We will also look for buffalos and Ceylon deer. The park features a large colony of Asian reptiles, many native to Sri Lanka and some areas of India.

We'll finish the safari at the park entrance and take the minibus back to your hotel in Kandy, arriving 10 hours later.
