Bhaktapur Private Tour

After being picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu, you will head east for less than an hour to the historic city of Bhaktapur, meaning "Place of Devotees". You will see its enchanting ancient temples upon arrival.

Begin your guided tour exploring the city centre. Stroll through the centuries-old streets and admire the traditional architecture typical of this region, influenced by Bhaktapur's isolated location in the eastern Kathmandu Valley.

Discover the city’s most iconic monuments and landmarks, including the historic Durbar Square, which houses the royal palace of the former Bhaktapur Kingdom and several exquisitely carved Hindu temples. Notable is the 15th century Palace of 55 Windows, a remarkable example of Nepali art.

After viewing Lu Dhowka, the intricate golden gates leading to the palace, continue your tour to Nyatapola Temple, a five-storey pagoda from the early 1700s, and the Dattatreya Temple.

As you explore these ancient buildings recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will encounter shops and stalls selling traditional handicrafts, providing insight into the culture and history of Bhaktapur.
