Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head out to the rural villages located to the south of the Nepalese capital.

The first stop will be in Bungamati, located in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population are Newar people, a community that has preserved its ancient culture, religion, and language over centuries. During the tour, you'll explore the main customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati and visit notable landmarks, including the Temple of Machhindranath, known for its prominent domes.

Following Bungamati, you will proceed to Khokana, where you'll learn about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will discuss the cultural evolution while you visit significant religious sites, such as Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple notable for its three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll be taken back to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
