Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and travel to the rural villages located south of the city. The first stop is Bungamati, in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population here are Newar people who have preserved their ancient culture, religion, and language. During the tour, you will explore monuments and landmarks, including the significant Temple of Machhindranath, known for its striking pearlescent domes.

Next, you'll head to the nearby settlement of Khokana, where you will learn about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will explain the evolution of the culture while you visit important religious buildings, including Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple recognized for its distinctive three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
