Kathmandu Temples Tour Details
On the day of your tour, you will be picked up from your hotel at 9 am by your expert English-speaking guide.
The first stop will be Durbar Square, a historic square located in front of the old royal palace of the former Newar Kingdom of Kathmandu, and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the heart of the old town with palaces, temples, and courtyards from Nepal's architectural heritage.
Your tour continues by bus to Pashupatinath temple, located in the east of Kathmandu Valley. After a 20-minute journey, you will arrive at the Hindu complex on the banks of the sacred River Bagmati. The temple, dating back to the 5th century and dedicated to Shiva, comprises over 500 temples, monuments, and ashrams in pagoda style. The main sanctuary features a gold roof.
Next, you will visit Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas globally and a significant spiritual site in Kathmandu.
The final stop will be Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple. This stupa is recognizable by its architecture and colored prayer flags, with paintings of the Buddha's eyes and eyebrows prominently featured. It is an iconic landmark in Kathmandu.
At the end of your tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel at 5 pm.
