Private Tour of Kathmandu
The capital of Nepal awaits on this private tour of Kathmandu. After hotel pickup at the selected time, we will drive to the city center to start exploring.
We will embark on a guided walking tour of Kathmandu, focusing on Durbar Square, or "Royal Palace Square," which features many significant buildings and monuments. Admire the Hanuman Dhoka, a palace complex where the former Nepalese monarchy lived until 1886, as your guide shares insights into an important event in Nepal's history and the influence of Hinduism and Buddhism on the daily lives of its people.
Next, we will drive through Freak Street to Kumari House to learn about the Living Goddess or Kumari, a young girl venerated as a deity, including how the next Kumari is chosen.
We will then proceed to Swayambhunath, a religious complex with panoramic views of Kathmandu. This temple, over 2500 years old, features golden colors and the imposing image of the Buddha's eyes on all sides.
Your private tour of Kathmandu will conclude back at your hotel after a three and a half hour exploration of this unique city and its temples, palaces, and history.
