Private Tour of Kathmandu
The capital of Nepal is featured in this private tour of Kathmandu. After hotel pickup at the selected time, we'll drive to the city center to begin exploring.
We'll embark on a guided walking tour of Kathmandu, focusing on Durbar Square, known as "Royal Palace Square," which houses many significant buildings. Admire the Hanuman Dhoka palace complex, the former residence of the Nepalese monarchy until 1886, while your guide shares insights about pivotal events in Nepal's history and the influences of Hinduism and Buddhism in daily life.
Next, we'll drive through Freak Street before arriving at Kumari House. Here, we'll learn about the Living Goddess, or Kumari, and the selection process for the next Kumari.
Our journey continues to Swayambhunath, a religious complex that provides panoramic views of Kathmandu from its hilltop location. The temple, over 2500 years old, captivates with its golden colors and the Buddha's eyes portrayed on all sides.
This private tour will conclude back at your hotel after three and a half hours of exploration.
