With this desert safari from Kerman, you will see the kalouts, the natural formations in the Shahdad Desert, known as the hottest desert in the world.

Activity Details

The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Kerman at 9 am. After an hour and a half's drive, you will arrive at the village of Shadad, a location known for recording some of the world's hottest temperatures.

The Shahdad Desert, also known as the Lut Desert, features the kalouts, large formations of rock and sand. You will explore these natural sculptures on a camel or quad bike, based on your preference.

During the tour, you will hear legends about the kalouts, referred to locally as yardangs or "rock and sand ghosts". These formations rise above the desert landscape.

After the safari, you will return to the vehicle and travel to the village of Keshit, where you will notice a change in the landscape, including palm trees, waterfalls, and a riverbed.

In Keshit, you can enjoy lunch at a typical Arab food stall with Persian influences. The return journey to hotels in Kerman is scheduled for 5 pm.
