With this desert safari from Kerman, you will see the famous kalouts in the Shahdad desert, the hottest desert in the world.

Shahdad Kalouts Desert Safari

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Kerman at 9 am. After an hour and a half drive, we will arrive at the village of Shadad, known for some of the hottest temperatures recorded globally.

The unique climate of the Shahdad Desert, also known as the Lut Desert, features kalouts; large formations of rock and sand across the terrain. You can choose to explore these natural sculptures on either a camel or quad bike.

As we traverse the rugged landscape, you will hear legends about the kalouts, referred to by locals as yardangs or "rock and sand ghosts." These formations tower over the desert, resembling warriors.

After the safari, we will return to the vehicle and head to the village of Keshit, where the landscape transforms to include palm trees, waterfalls, and a riverbed.

In Keshit, you can enjoy lunch at one of the typical Arab food stalls with Persian influences. We will return to Kerman's hotels at 5 pm.

Camel or Quad Bike

When booking, you must select either camel or quad bike for the safari. Participants choosing the quad bike option must be over 18 years old and hold a valid type B driving license.
