Explore St Vincent and the Grenadines with this Owia Salt Pond tour from Kingstown. Discover the east coast of the island and bathe in the natural pools formed on volcanic rock.
Owia Salt Pond Tour
At 9 am we'll meet at the Kingstown cruise terminal and board a bus to the northern tip of the island, specifically to Owia. For approximately two hours, accompanied by a guide, we'll travel along the entire east coast. We will pass through Arnos Vale, then stop in Young Island, where the cast of The Pirates of the Caribbean stayed during filming.
Next, we'll traverse Calliaqua and see its market before continuing north to Byera, near the Black Point tunnel, our first stop. This tunnel was used for unloading sugar cane. While walking through Black Point, we will also pass through Georgetown and the Rabacca Dry River, where we will stop briefly for pictures, and Sandy Bay, home to one of the largest indigenous communities.
Afterwards, we'll return to the bus and arrive in Owia. Here, we will find Owia Salt Pond, known for its natural pools formed on volcanic rocks, full of coral formations and reef fish. We will explore this area for about an hour, and the tour will conclude with our return to the start point at 3 pm.
