PADI Open Water Diving Course
Day 1: Theory
On the first day, you will watch videos and complete the Knowledge Reviews of the PADI Open Water Digital Manual. This theory is self-study and can be done at the dive center or partially at your accommodation if you have your own tablet or smartphone. Assistance will be provided to create your PADI Account for access to digital materials. An instructor will review your work at the end of the day.
Day 2: Confined water practice
On the second day, you will meet your instructor at the dive center to start the practical part of the course. The instructor will brief you on the equipment. You will complete Confined Water practice in a swimming pool, learning scuba skills that will be practiced over the next two days. This session normally takes half a day, followed by additional theory.
Day 3: Open water dives
On the third day, you will go for your first 2 dives in the ocean. An instructor will brief you on these dives, which have a maximum depth of 40 feet and will take place at suitable training sites. After the dives, you will return to the dive center to finish remaining theory or incomplete confined water components.
Day 4: Final Day
On the last day, you will make your final 2 dives, reaching a maximum depth of 60 feet. If all theory is completed, you can celebrate upon returning to the dive center. Dive sites will be chosen with safety and training requirements in mind, ensuring visibility of marine life. You will finish by lunchtime, allowing for an afternoon departure or additional fun dives with a 10% discount.
Important Information
After your last dive, you should wait at least 24 hours before boarding a plane or going to high-altitude areas.
