Sail Rock Scuba Diving Experience

Sail Rock is one of the most famous dive sites in the Gulf of Thailand. Immerse yourself in the clear waters after taking a boat from Koh Tao.

Important information

This activity is suitable for certified divers who have dived in the previous 12 months. Beginners are advised to book a different diving activity. The day before the activity, visit the diving center before 2 pm to present your official diver certificate and fill out a form with personal information; failing to do so will result in ineligibility to participate in the activity.

Sail Rock Scuba Diving Experience

The excursion will begin at the diving center in Sairee Beach. After a briefing from your English-speaking monitor, you will head to Sail Rock, located in the Gulf of Thailand. The journey lasts approximately one and a half hours, during which free drinks and snacks will be provided. Upon arrival, divers will be divided into two groups: one for Open Waters Divers (up to 18 meters) and another for advanced divers (up to 30 meters), each completing two immersions.

At Sail Rock, expect to see diverse marine flora and fauna: schools of fish, barracudas, corals, and potentially a whale shark, which is harmless. The return to Sairee Beach will occur six hours after departure.

More important information

If you have diver certification but haven’t dived in over a year, you may still book this activity with a scuba refresher class, which costs 700 Thai bahts (approximately 19 EUR) and is payable on the day of the activity. The activity is weather-dependent; the boat captain may cancel the trip if navigating to the dive site poses risks due to sea conditions.
