PADI Open Water Diving Course in Koh Samui

To become certified divers, you must first pass an online theory exam to start the practical section. Passwords will be sent in advance to complete the course from home, saving time during travels.

After completing the theory course, you will meet at the Koh Samui dive centre to begin your PADI Open Water course.

Day 1: Confined waters practice

On the first day, pick up from your hotel in Koh Samui is at 8:30 am to go to the dive centre. You will fill in a medical form and start the first practice session in confined waters.

Equipment will be donned to practice exercises from the theory course, including helping a companion if they run out of oxygen, floating, and mask procedures. After the session, return to your hotel at 2:45 pm.

Day 2 & 3: Dives in open waters

On the second and third days, four dives in open waters will be conducted to complete your PADI Open Water course. Pickup from your hotel is at 7 am for boat access.

Dive sites include Koh Tao and Sail Rock, contingent on sea conditions. Skills practiced will include equipment handling, compass orientation, and vests removal underwater. You will also explore various areas in the Gulf of Thailand. After all exercises, the course concludes with the issuance of your PADI Open Water certificate and return to your hotel at 3:30 pm.

Lunch

Lunch is included during course days and features a buffet of rice, noodles, salad, fish, and fresh fruit.

Important Information

This activity includes hotel pickup in central Koh Samui. An additional fee of 800 TBH (approximately 26 USD) per person applies for pickups from western or southern areas of the island, payable on the activity day. Alternatively, you can reach the meeting point independently.
