Amalienborg Palace Guided Tour Itinerary
At the scheduled time, meet your guide at the main entrance to Amalienborg. This historic palace complex on Copenhagen's waterfront is the residence of the current Danish monarchs.
The tour begins with an introduction to the octagonal courtyard, surrounded by the four mansions of the palace. Your guide will share insights about the buildings as you enjoy views of the equestrian statue of King Frederick V in the center, Frederik's Church to the west, and the Copenhagen Opera House to the east.
Originally built in the 18th century for Danish nobility, Amalienborg became the official royal residence after a fire at Christiansborg Palace in 1794.
Inside, you'll visit the Amalienborg Museum, featuring reconstructions of royal offices and private rooms, and explore Christian VII's Palace, including the Pompeian Chamber, Queen Louise’s salon, and the Throne Chamber.
The tour lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours.
