Christiansborg Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

Meet your guide at the main entrance to the Christiansborg Palace, located on Slotsholmen, or "Castle Island", in Copenhagen's harbour. Your expert English-speaking guide will explain the current use of Christiansborg as the seat of the Folketing, the Danish Parliament. After learning about the unicameral political system, you'll embark on a guided tour of the palace's royal chambers, admiring the Baroque and Neo-Baroque interior decoration.

Discover the extensive collection of Gobelin tapestries in the Great Hall of Christiansborg, which portray different events from Denmark's history. The tour lasts approximately an hour and a half and concludes back at the original start point.

Christiansborg Tower

At the end of your tour, you can climb to the Christiansborg Observation Deck, the tallest tower in Copenhagen, offering panoramic views over the city. The tower is open from 11 am until 9 pm, and access is free.

Important information

This guided tour does not include entrance to Christiansborg Palace. The ticket costs 60 DKK per person (approximately 9 EUR), and children under 17 years old enter for free. If you have a Copenhagen Card, your entrance fee is included. The tour only enters the royal chambers; the Parliament Wing and other administration offices are not open to the public.
