The Little Mermaid & Port of Copenhagen Free Tour

Description

We will meet at number 14 Amaliegade to start the free tour of Copenhagen. The tour includes stops at notable locations.

Initially, we will visit the Copenhagen Opera House known for its design and acoustics. Next, we will proceed to St Alban's Church, the only Anglican church in Denmark, located by the sea.

We will then explore the Amalie Gardens, adjacent to Amalienborg Palace, where we will discuss Denmark's colonial history and the Fireburn Revolt led by Mary Thomas.

After this, we will visit Kastellet Fortress, one of Northern Europe's oldest fortifications. Upon exiting, we will reach the Little Mermaid sculpture, honoring one of Hans Christian Andersen's stories.

Nearby is the Gefion Fountain, depicting a goddess creating Zealand. We will continue to Nyboder, historic fishing district with orange houses built in 1757 for the Royal Danish Navy.

Finally, we will conclude the tour at Kongens Have, The King's Garden, after approximately 2.5 hours.
