Day Trip Details

Your excursion will begin at Copenhagen Central Station, where you'll board a train heading north towards Helsingør, approximately 1 hour away.

Upon arrival at Helsingør Railway Station, there is a short 20-minute walk to Kronborg Castle, located on the northeastern tip of Zealand Island. The fortress, dating back to the 15th century, was pivotal in controlling access to the Baltic Sea and is designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Cross the bridge over the Baltic waters to enter the fortified complex, where you will see the castle that inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet. Learn about the legends of the Danish prince, a significant figure in world literature.

Explore the halls of Kronborg Castle to understand its history and the lives of its inhabitants over the centuries. After touring the castle interior, enjoy a stroll outside to view the impressive collection of cannons and take in the views of the Øresund Strait towards the Swedish town of Helsingborg.

Following the visit, we will walk back to the Helsingør train station around 12 pm, taking the train back to Copenhagen Central Station where we will arrive approximately 1 hour later.

Important Information

This day trip does not include transport or admission to Kronborg Castle. A 24-hour train ticket to Helsingør costs 130DKK per person. Admission varies by date: 90DKK from September to May, and 140DKK from June to August. Children under 18 enter free.
