Roskilde Day Trip
- 4 Stunden
Let yourself be captivated by the picturesque Danish town of Roskilde, known for its fjord, historic centre, and Viking Ship Museum. This is a day trip option from Copenhagen.
Roskilde Day Trip Itinerary
Meet your English-speaking guide at Copenhagen Central Station in the morning and take the train to Roskilde, arriving in approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy a guided walking tour of this historic city, highlighting the red-brick Gothic Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial place of 39 Danish monarchs, while your guide shares intriguing historical facts.
Next, visit the Viking Ship Museum at Roskilde Fjord, where you'll see the longest Viking warship in the world and the Skuldelev ships, five original Viking boats sunk nearly 1000 years ago. After the museum visit, return to Roskilde station to catch the train back to Copenhagen, arriving 4 hours later.
Free time
Instead of returning with the group around 1 pm, you can choose to spend the rest of the day in Roskilde, where you can enjoy lunch, visit the Cathedral, or take a Viking boat trip. If you stay, be sure to check train times for your return to Copenhagen.
