Travel back in time and discover some of the Polish city's most important historical sights on this World War II Tour of Krakow. Learn what life was like during this dark period of history.
Description
After meeting at St. Mary's Basilica in the centre of Krakow at the indicated time, we'll begin our World War II history tour. We'll explore how the Nazi occupation of Krakow unfolded, focusing on the experiences of the city's inhabitants.
Crossing Florianska Street, we'll reach Market Square, a significant site that witnessed both celebrations and public executions, even named after Adolf Hitler during the Nazi occupation.
We'll visit key buildings from the Nazi occupation, including the Ordnungspolizei headquarters, and explore locations where the Polish resistance, Armia Krajowa, fought against the Nazis.
Next, we'll head to the Collegium Novum, where our guide will recount one of the darkest episodes of the war in Krakow. The tour includes a stop at a Gestapo prison and viewing the Katyn Cross, a symbol of Polish suffering.
We will conclude our World War II tour of Krakow at the Grunwald Monument two hours after our meeting.
