Description
After meeting at St. Mary's Basilica in the centre of Krakow at the indicated time, we'll begin our World War II history tour of the Polish city.
The tour will cover how the Nazi occupation of Krakow unfolded, the events during the Second World War, and the life of the city's inhabitants during this time. We will explore significant monuments related to this history.
We will cross Florianska Street to reach Market Square, which witnessed celebrations and public executions, and was named after Adolf Hitler during the Nazi occupation.
We'll visit key buildings from the Nazi occupation, including the site of the Ordnungspolizei and locations where the Polish resistance, Armia Krajowa, fought the Nazis.
Next, we will head to the Collegium Novum, where the guide will discuss one of the darkest episodes of the Second World War in Krakow. The tour will also include a stop at a Gestapo prison and the Katyn Cross, a symbol of Polish suffering.
The World War II tour of Krakow will conclude at the Grunwald Monument 2 hours after the start.
