At the designated time, we'll meet up at the port of Kristiansand to embark on a journey exploring the history and prominent landmarks of this city. Kristiansand was named after the Danish King Christian IV. We'll delve into the 17th century to uncover this history. Kristiansand has played a pivotal role in regional trade, evidenced by the exterior of the city's fortress.
The fish market is significant in the historic center with its vibrant colors and wooden structure. We will stroll along the marina, wander the banks of the river Otra, and explore the picturesque Posebyen district, known for its concentration of old houses that survived a devastating fire in the 19th century.
Before concluding our tour, we'll pass by the magnificent Kristiansand Cathedral. After 2.5 hours of exploration, we can part ways in the center of Kristiansand or return together to our starting point, as preferred.
