Bear Watching in the Romanian Carpathians
During this bear-watching activity in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains, you will explore how these animals live. You will be picked up at the George Bari?iu Library and driven to the Transylvania region. As you reach the lookout point, safety rules and information about the animals will be provided. This area is known for approximately 5,000 wild Carpathian brown bears.
In the forested area, you will have the opportunity to view the bears from a special viewpoint. A ranger will offer insights into their behaviors while you take in the landscapes. There is about an 80% chance of seeing a brown bear, and you may observe large males or females with cubs. Additionally, other wildlife such as wild boars, roe deer, red deer, and game birds may also be seen.
Approximately 4 hours after starting, the activity concludes and you will be returned to the meeting point in Brasov.
Departure time
The start time may vary slightly from what is shown during booking. Confirmation will be provided about the exact time, generally between 4 pm and 6 pm, depending on weather conditions and animal behaviors.
Important to note
While efforts will be made to observe wildlife, sightings are not guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of animals and respect for their habitat.
