In this bear-watching activity in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains, you'll experience the habitat of these majestic animals.

Bear Watching in the Romanian Carpathians

At the agreed time, we'll pick you up at the George Bari?iu Library and drive to the Transylvania region for the bear-watching activity. Upon reaching the lookout point, we'll discuss safety rules and the animals we may observe. This area is known for its large population of Carpathian brown bears, estimated at around 5,000.

In the forested area, you will have the opportunity to view bears in their natural habitat from a special viewpoint. A ranger will provide insights into these animals while we appreciate the landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains. There is an approximately 80% chance of seeing a brown bear, as we might encounter large males or females with their cubs. Additionally, you may see other wildlife such as wild boars, roe deer, red deer, and game birds.

Approximately 4 hours later, we will conclude the activity and return you to the meeting point in Brasov.

Departure time

The start time may vary slightly from what is shown during the booking. We will contact you to confirm the exact time, generally between 4 pm and 6 pm, depending on weather conditions and animal behaviors.

Important to note

We cannot guarantee sightings of the wildlife listed. Wildlife is unpredictable, and we will aim to approach them while respecting their natural habitat.
