Hiking in Ciocanu
We will meet at the designated time in front of the Brasov County History Museum to commence the hiking tour in Ciocanu. The journey begins with a 1-hour drive to Ciocanu, a Transylvanian village set amidst nature and mountains. En route, we will enjoy views of the Bucegi Natural Park, Piatra Craiului National Park, and the Postavaru Massif.
Upon arrival, we will embark on a 2-hour hike in the Piatra Craiului Mountains, located at the historical border of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Romania. The route covers 6.2-7.5 miles (10-12 km), where we will encounter the beautiful scenery of the village and observe local cattle and sheep farms. Throughout the hike, we will share legends and curiosities about the region.
After the hike, a well-deserved lunch will be served at a cozy house featuring homemade cheeses, sausages, homegrown vegetables, preserves, and pickles. Following this experience lasting 4 hours, we will return to the meeting point in Brasov.
