St. Anna Lake Tour

On this excursion to St. Anna Lake from Brasov, we'll explore the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe and its surrounding landscapes.

St. Anna Lake Tour

We will pick you up at your hotel in Brasov at the scheduled time to begin this excursion. St. Anna Lake is notable for being the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe.

After a drive of 1.5-2 hours, we will arrive and start our walk in the Ciomatu Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians, located at an altitude of 3,117 feet (950 meters) above sea level.

During the walk, we will discuss the characteristics of this site, which formed in a volcanic crater approximately 32,000 years ago, and has become a popular destination in Transylvania due to its beauty and legends.

This is also a protected area, home to carnivorous plants, miniature conifers, and various species only visible in the summer months.

As our final stop, we will visit Balvanyos to embark on a walking route to the "stinking caves" and the "bird cemetery". You will learn about the origins of these names during the tour.

We will conclude our exploration by returning to Brasov after 8-10 hours.
