Batu Caves Day Trip
After hotel pickup in Kuala Lumpur, the trip begins with a visit to a pewter workshop. This workshop showcases the craftsmanship of pewter, made from copper, tin, and lead, including the largest pewter beer jug in the world. Next, we proceed to a local Batik fabric factory, highlighting an important craft industry.
The tour continues to the Batu Caves, where we will spend one hour exploring. These caves are home to a series of grottoes and caverns atop a sacred hill, recognized as the most famous Hindu sanctuary in Asia outside of India. Accessing the caves requires climbing 272 steps, rewarding visitors with sculptures of Hindu deities.
Upon descending, we will discuss the history of the impressive Murugan statue, a 42-meter tall sculpture symbolizing war and victory, remarkable for its construction on hilly terrain. Following this guided tour, we will return to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur, concluding the 3.5-hour experience.
Important Info
The ascent of 272 steps to the Batu Caves is not advised for individuals with poor physical condition or those who experience shortness of breath.
