Ephesus Day Trip
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kusadasi to begin your journey into Antiquity, traveling to the Turkish province of Izmir.
Your first stop will be at the historic Catholic Shrine, known as the House of the Virgin Mary, where tradition holds that Saint John brought Mary after the crucifixion. You will learn about the historical significance of this venerated site.
Next, you will undertake a guided tour of the Ephesus archaeological site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among the highlights is the Library of Celsus, famed for being one of the most impressive Roman structures, originally built as a mausoleum and to hold over 10,000 scrolls.
Your guide will also lead you to the notable Temple of Hadrian and the Roman Theatre of Ephesus, which remains well-preserved.
After your visit, you will go to Selçuk for a lunch break featuring local specialties. Post-lunch, you will visit the remains of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Isa Bey Mosque, from the 14th century.
Your tour will conclude with a return to Kusadasi, lasting a total of 5-7 hours.
