We'll meet at the sacred forest of Kaya Kinondo at the indicated time. This forest is where locals communicate with their ancestors through prayers and offerings. We start with a 15-minute introduction at the Kaya Kinondo's Visitors Information Center. The name Kaya means home or village; this fortified settlement was established by the Digo-Mijikenda people over 600 years ago.

Next, we'll embark on a 50-minute hiking tour to learn about the forest's flora and fauna and the sacred activities that occur here. You'll witness a cultural performance and an ancestral healing ritual. We will then proceed to a traditional village to learn about their lifestyle and modes of subsistence, watch a traditional dance performance, and enjoy tasting African herbal tea.
