Embark on an exploration from La Paz to the stunning freshwater lake nestled in the Andes with this 2-Day Tour of Lake Titicaca. This journey will take you through the vibrant town of Copacabana and the renowned Sol Island, recognized as the origin of the Inca Empire.

2-Day Lake Titicaca Tour

Day 1: Copacabana and Sol Island

Your adventure commences at 7:30 AM with a pickup from the La Paz Bus Terminal, setting off for the Titicaca region, home to the highest navigable lake worldwide.

After approximately four hours of scenic travel, we will reach the town of Copacabana, situated along the lake's edge. Once we refuel with a traditional lunch, we will proceed to the port to board a vessel bound for the Isla del Sol, a significant site in the Inca Empire. According to legend, it is from this island that Manco Capac and his consort Mama Ocllo embarked to establish Cuzco! In addition, we will explore the Yumani staircase and the sacred Inca spring, enriching our understanding of the region's heritage!

As the day winds down, we will hike to the Pallakasa viewpoint to witness a breathtaking sunset over Lake Titicaca, before returning to our hotel on Isla del Sol for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Pilcocaina & Copacabana

Following breakfast at the hotel, boasting remarkable views of Lake Titicaca, we will set out by boat to explore the ruins of Pilcocaina on Isla del Sol, where we will delve into the storied past of this ancient Inca palace. After our visit, we will head back to Copacabana to immerse ourselves in its main highlights, from vibrant streets to historic buildings, enveloped in a lively ambiance!

By midday, we’ll enjoy a meal in a local eatery to taste the finest dishes from the region. Finally, we will begin our return journey to La Paz via bus, with an expected arrival at the bus terminal around 5:30 PM.

Option for Isla de la Luna and Sampaya

When making your reservation, you have the choice to add a visit to the Isla de la Luna (Island of the Moon). Should you select this option, a boat will take you there on the first day of your tour. This visit includes exploring the Inca ruins and temple, along with a trip to Sampaya, an enchanting stone-built town.

Accommodation

This tour includes one night's lodging at the Campo Santo Hostal, Las Islas, or a comparable establishment, offering accommodation in a double room equipped with a private bathroom.
