Lake Titicaca Catamaran & Sol Island Visit
At 6:30 am we will pick you up from your hotel in La Paz. We will drive to the sanctuary of the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, an important pilgrimage site.
From here, we will board the catamaran and start sailing on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.
As we make our way to Sol Island, the lake's largest island and the former seat of the Inca Empire, we will admire views of the lake. Legend has it that Viracocha, the Incan Sun God, was born here.
We will visit the gardens and the Inca Fountain before heading to the Inti Wata archaeological complex. This site is a major attraction on Sol Island and in Bolivia.
While we are here, we will visit the Ekako underground museum and traditional medicine and totora reed raft construction centers. We will explore the island's flora and fauna with a visit to the agricultural terraces and herds of Andean camelids by the Manco Capac viewpoint.
Before leaving Sol Island, we will take a boat ride on a traditional totora reed raft, enjoying panoramic views of the Pilkokaina Palace.
After the raft ride, we will return to the catamaran for a buffet lunch as we cruise through the lake. We will reach the mainland and take you back to your hotel, with an estimated arrival time of 7 pm.
Finish in Puno
If preferred, you can end the catamaran cruise in Puno. The route will follow the same details as above. After lunch, we will take you to Puno by bus.
