Lake Titicaca Catamaran & Sol Island Visit
At 6:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz. We'll drive to the sanctuary where the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, an important pilgrimage site, is located.
From here, we'll board the catamaran and start sailing on Lake Titicaca, known as the highest navigable lake in the world.
As we head to Sol Island, the lake's largest island and the former seat of the Inca Empire, we'll admire views of the lake. Legend has it that Viracocha, the Incan Sun God, was born here.
We'll visit the gardens and the Inca Fountain before heading to the Inti Wata archaeological complex, a main attraction on Sol Island and in Bolivia.
During our visit, we'll also explore the Ekako underground museum and the island's traditional medicine and totora reed raft construction centers. We'll examine the island's flora and fauna at the agricultural terraces and see herds of Andean camelids by the Manco Capac viewpoint.
Before leaving Sol Island, we'll take a boat ride on a traditional totora reed raft, offering panoramic views of the Pilkokaina Palace.
After the boat ride, we'll return to the catamaran for a buffet lunch as we cruise through the lake. We'll then reach the mainland, with an estimated return to your hotel by 7 pm.
Finish in Puno
If preferred, you can choose to end the catamaran cruise in Puno. The route will be the same as described above. After lunch, we'll take you to Puno by bus.
