Discover the main wonders of Bolivia with this excursion to Lake Titicaca and Tiwanaku from La Paz. Learn about these places inhabited by ancient civilizations.

Lake Titicaca and Tiwanaku Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz and start our journey to the ruins of Tiwanaku.

Once there, we'll tour this ancient city, composed of seven important architectural constructions: Kalasasaya, the semi-subterranean temple, the Akapana pyramid, Kantantika, Kerikala, Putuni, and Puma Punku. After a 2-hour journey, we'll arrive at Tiwanaku, a city significant for the Inca Empire, which inhabited these lands more than 2,500 years ago. We'll explore the ruins of this archaeological complex.

During the tour, we'll visit the Tiwanaku Museum and sites such as the carved stone monoliths and the Sun Gate.

Following our visit, we'll head to Huatajata, a small village along the banks of Lake Titicaca. This is South America's second-largest lake and the world's highest lake suitable for sailing.

We'll stop for lunch, featuring traditional dishes from the area. After lunch, we'll visit the Reed Rafts Museum to learn about the craftsmanship of traditional boatcrafts and then enjoy a sail on the tranquil waters of Lake Titicaca.

After a full day exploring Bolivia, we'll return to La Paz, arriving at your hotel about 9 hours later.
