Details of the Day Trip
At the predetermined hour, you will be collected from your accommodation in La Paz. Following this, we will journey towards the Tiwanaku archaeological site, transporting you back to the year 1500 B.C., when this civilization thrived as the first significant Precolombian empire on the continent.
Our initial stop will be the Tiwanaku lithic museum, where you can view some of the artifacts and artworks preserved from this ancient civilization.
Next, we will explore key landmarks within Tiwanaku, such as the Akapana pyramid and the Kalasasaya temple, a sacred area that served a calendrical function.
The tour continues into an underground temple adorned with various zoomorphic and anthropomorphic designs, as well as the majestic Puerta del Sol ("Gate of the Sun"), an emblematic feature of the Tiwanaku culture.
