Uyuni & Death Road 5 Day Trip

On our 5-day trip from La Paz, participants will cycle along Death Road and visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and its surroundings, experiencing the culture of Bolivia.

Description

Day 1: La Paz - Death Road - La Paz - Uyuni

The trip begins with a hotel pickup in La Paz between 7:30 am and 8 am followed by a bus ride to Death Road. Starting at La Cumbre, at 15,400 feet (4,700 meters) above sea level, participants will cycle through steep roads and scenic viewpoints, culminating in a return to La Paz for an overnight bus to Uyuni.

Day 2: Uyuni

Arrival in Uyuni at 7 am includes breakfast, followed by a jeep excursion to the Uyuni Salt Flat. Stops include the train cemetery for photos, Colchani iodization plant for learning about salt extraction, and the Dakar monument. The day concludes with a visit to Incahuasi Island for sunset views, with overnight accommodation in Uyuni.

Day 3: Uyuni - Huayllajara

After breakfast, the journey continues to the Red Lagoon, passing Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiacorta lagoons, the Siloli Desert, and the Stone Tree. Lunch is at Paso del Inca, arriving at the Red Lagoon at 4 pm to view flamingos, ending with an overnight stay in Huayllajara.

Day 4: Huayllajara - Salvador Dalí Desert - Uyuni - La Paz

Following breakfast, participants will visit Sol de Mañana to observe volcanic activity and relax at Chalviri Hot Springs. The Salvador Dalí Desert will be explored, along with views of Verde and Blanca lagoons and Lincancabur Volcano, before returning to Uyuni for a bus back to La Paz.

Day 5: La Paz

After overnight travel, arrival back in La Paz is scheduled for 6:30 am.
