Uyuni & Death Road 5 Day Trip

On our 5-day trip from La Paz, you'll cycle along Death Road and visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and its surroundings, experiencing the culture of this Andean country.

Description

Day 1: La Paz - Death Road - La Paz - Uyuni

Pickup from your hotel in La Paz occurs between 7:30 am and 8 am, followed by a bus ride to Death Road. At La Cumbre, 15,400 feet (4,700 metres) above sea level, you'll cycle along steep roads and rocky paths with waterfalls. After biking, return to La Paz, then board a bus for an overnight journey to Uyuni.

Day 2: Uyuni

Arrive in Uyuni at 7 am for breakfast. Post-meal, take a jeep to the Uyuni Salt Flat, stopping at the train cemetery for photos and visiting Colchani, a salt iodization plant. Continue to the Uyuni Salt Flat, visit the Dakar monument, and Playa Blanca salt hostel. Finish the day at Incahuasi Island, observing a sunset over the salt flat. Overnight stay in a hostel in Uyuni.

Day 3: Uyuni - Huayllajara

After breakfast, travel to the Red Lagoon, passing Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiacorta lagoons, the Siloli Desert, and the Stone Tree. Lunch at Paso del Inca and arrive at the Red Lagoon around 4 pm to see flamingos. Spend the night in the Huayllajara community hostel.

Day 4: Huayllajara - Salvador Dalí Desert - Uyuni - La Paz

Post-breakfast, visit Sol de Mañana for volcanic activity, then stop at Chalviri Hot Springs. Continue to the Salvador Dalí Desert and view the Verde and Blanca lagoons and Lincancabur Volcano. Return to Uyuni for the bus back to La Paz.

Day 5: La Paz

Arrive back in La Paz at 6:30 am after an overnight trip.
