On this cruise around the Palomino Islands, we will sail along the coast of Callao and observe the wildlife of the Peruvian capital, including penguins, seabirds, and sea lions.

Boat Trip Details

We will meet at the Club Canottieri dock in Callao's La Punta Bay at the scheduled time. After providing life jackets, we will board the boat and begin our tour around the coast of Callao, sailing towards the Palomino Islands.

Our first destination will be San Lorenzo Island, the largest island in Peru, which houses a naval base. We will also pass by Frontón Island, where the remains of an old prison are visible, and the Cavinzas Islands, home to seabirds like pelicans, blue-footed boobies, and red-legged cormorants. The area features native birds such as Peruvian gulls and Humboldt penguins.

The highlight of the tour will be the Palomino Islands, hosting a population of approximately 8,000 sea lions. We will have 20-30 minutes to swim with the sea lions before heading north to return to the meeting point, concluding the tour 3 to 4 hours after departure.

Animal Sightings

The Palomino Islands offer excellent opportunities to see sea lions, penguins, and other species, though sightings depend on weather conditions and the animals' breeding seasons.
