Palomino Islands Speedboat Trip & Swimming with Sea Lions
Join us at 10 am in front of the El Mirador Restaurant in La Punta. A short walk will lead us to the speedboat for a cruise around the Callao islands.
The journey will take us across the South Pacific, allowing us to view rock formations and observe fishing activities. We will pass El Camotal, an island submerged during an earthquake, visible only at low tide.
We will visit San Lorenzo, known as a "mystery island," which houses a navy base, cemeteries of Chilean soldiers, and over 20 pre-Incan archaeological sites.
Next, we will explore El Frontón, famous for its prison that held members of the Shining Path communist party in the 1980s. We will also see the Cavinzas, a group of islands with natural caves and caverns home to Humboldt penguins.
As we approach the Palomino Islands, we will observe the guano birds and a colony of sea lions. Participants will have the opportunity to swim with these animals.
The trip concludes with a return to the meeting point in Callao at 1 pm.
