Traditional Boat Trip in the Bay of La Rochelle
We'll meet at the indicated time at the pier of Avenue Michel Crépeau. From there we'll start sailing in the bay of La Rochelle.
The cruise will take place aboard the Viking Ljö, a traditional boat built in 1961 in the Bassin d'Arcachon, measuring 12 meters (40 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) wide, with a maximum capacity of 12 passengers.
Although we won't enter the Atlantic Ocean, we'll enjoy a pleasant cruise in the bay of La Rochelle. From the boat, we'll admire the Tour de la Chaîne and the Tour Saint-Nicolas, two watchtowers that flank the Vieux Port.
We'll also observe the Tour de la Lanterne and pass by the modern Port La Rochelle and Phare du bout du monde, the lighthouse at the end of the world. The history of the lighthouse is notable.
Finally, after a crossing of an hour and 15 minutes, we'll conclude this boat trip in the bay of La Rochelle by returning to the embarkation point.
