La Vega Religious History Private Tour

At 10 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in La Vega and commence our private tour. During this tour, we will uncover various aspects of Christianity.

We will start by visiting Duarte Park and the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, where we will explore its symbolic details, including the significance of the number 12 found in stained glass windows and other features, as well as the representations of sin within the structure.

After the Cathedral, we will visit the Sacred Museum, which contains priceless relics and Taíno figures. Following this, we will proceed to the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes in Santo Cerro, where we will learn about the legend of the cross of Columbus, the indigenous population, and the Virgin Mary.

Our final destination will be La Vega Vieja, the site of the first settlement founded by colonists, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1562. We will conclude our tour and return you to the starting point by 1:30 pm.
