Day Trip to Ballestas Islands & Paracas National Reserve
Arrive at the Cruz del Sur bus station in Lima at least 30 minutes prior to departure. We’ll begin our journey with a scenic 4-hour bus ride to Paracas, known for its stunning natural scenery.
Upon arrival, a guide will meet you at the Paracas station. We will then hop on a bus heading towards the harbor, where we’ll board a speedboat for an exhilarating trip across the waters to the Ballestas Islands. Be on the lookout for diverse wildlife as we make our way.
As we reach the islands, observe the vibrant colonies of sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and various local bird species. In addition to wildlife viewing, our excursion includes a visit to the Paracas Candelabra, an enigmatic geoglyph linked to the renowned Nazca Lines.
After approximately two hours of exploration, we’ll return to the mainland and proceed to the Paracas National Reserve. Here, we will wander along the salt roads, getting an up-close view of the graceful flamingos that call this area home. Our adventure will take us next to Lagunillas Beach, where we can appreciate its breathtaking views.
At the end of the day, our guide will bid farewell before taking us back to the station in Paracas. From there, we will return to the Cruz del Sur station in Lima, concluding this enriching day trip approximately 16.5 hours after we began.
