Ljubljana Christmas Tour

Join us on this Christmas tour of Ljubljana to discover the traditions of the Slovenian capital during the festive season, featuring lights, markets, and sweets.

Tour Details

We will meet at 21 Ciril-Metodov trg to start our Christmas tour of Ljubljana. The first stop is Prešeren Square, honoring France Prešeren, Slovenia's leading romantic poet. The square is surrounded by Art Nouveau façades and the Church of the Annunciation, built between 1646 and 1660.

Next, we proceed to Congress Square, known for its blend of medieval and modern architecture, enhanced by Christmas decorations. Following this, we walk along the Ljubljanica River while discussing Slovenian Christmas traditions, including the reason children receive gifts three times in December.

Finally, we will visit the Christmas market in the old town, concluding the tour with tastings of roasted almonds, salted chocolate, Christmas honey, mulled wine, mulled gin, and šmorn, a typical dessert. After 1.5 hours of sightseeing, we will return to Prešeren Square to conclude the tour.
