Join us on this Christmas tour of Ljubljana to discover the traditions of the Slovenian capital during the festive season.

Tour Details

At the appointed time, we'll meet at 21 Ciril-Metodov trg to begin our Christmas tour of Ljubljana.

First, we will head towards Prešeren Square, dedicated to France Prešeren, featuring various Art Nouveau façades and the notable Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, constructed between 1646 and 1660.

Next, we will proceed to Congress Square, which showcases a blend of medieval and modern architecture, enhanced by Christmas decorations.

Our route will then take us along the banks of the Ljubljanica River, where we will discuss Slovenian Christmas traditions, including the tradition of children receiving presents three times in December.

Finally, we will explore the old town and visit the Christmas market, concluding the tour with a tasting of roasted almonds, salted chocolate, Christmas honey, mulled wine, mulled gin, or Christmas tea and šmorn, a local dessert.

We will return to Prešeren Square, concluding our tour after 1.5 hours of sightseeing.
