On this stargazing activity in Tekapo, we'll admire a starry sky through powerful telescopes in a location with nearly zero light pollution.
Tekapo Stargazing
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time on Andrew Don Drive, just a four-minute drive from the Tekapo city center, to start the stargazing experience.
At our stargazing location, we will embark on an astronomical journey from ancient stories of constellations to scientific facts. Our guide will discuss different astrological theories from Greek mythology to Maori legends.
Sitting outside with blankets and hot chocolate , we'll observe various stars through a 9.25-inch computerised telescope and learn about the solar system.
As we conclude our time together, we'll gather around a fire pit to roast marshmallows while admiring the starry sky.
After a total of 1.5 hours, we'll say our goodbyes.
