Trip Details

Day 1: Valle de la Luna - Talampaya

After picking you up from your hotel in La Rioja, we will head to the Ischigualasto Provincial Park, known as Valle de la Luna. The journey lasts 2.5 hours, leading to a vehicle tour of notable rock formations including the Bowling Green, Submarine, Mushroom, Red Cliffs, and Museum. You will have free time in the visitor centre for lunch before we proceed to Talampaya National Park.

In Talampaya, we will learn about erosion over the past 45 million years that shaped significant geological features. The tour will include a visit to a canyon with petroglyphs, such as the Gothic Cathedral, the Monk, and the Botanical Garden. The day concludes after a total of 12 hours at your hotel in Villa Unión.

Day 2: Laguna Brava

We will pick you up from your hotel in Villa Unión and head to the Laguna Brava Provincial Reserve. During the trip, we will pass through La Quebrada de la Troya, offering views of Andean landscapes and the Vinchina River. After 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), we will arrive at Quebrada del Peñón for a hiking trail to Laguna Brava.

In the park, we will see the high-altitude lagoon system of the Andes, especially Laguna Brava known for its white and pink flamingos, with snow-capped mountains providing a scenic backdrop. The day concludes at your hotel in La Rioja around 8 pm.
