La Rioja Villages Day Trip

On this excursion to Chilecito and Nanogasta, we'll explore the villages of the Argentine province of La Rioja as well as the Cuesta de Miranda.

Description

After hotel pickup in central La Rioja at the scheduled time, we will proceed to the scenic villages of the province.

The first stop will be in Patquia, followed by Los Colorados, known for its distinct reddish mountains. We will also explore a cave of Chacho Peñaloza, a historical site. Then, we will continue north to Chilecito.

Our tour includes the mountain range of Famatima, with highlights such as Cuesta Las Talas, Santa Florentina, and the stations 1 and 2 of the Cable Rail, which was used for gold transportation. Next, we will visit La Mejicana mine and its museum for insights into mining activities in the early 20th century.

In the village of Samay Huasi, we will see the estate and museum of Dr. Joaquín Víctor Gonzáles, the Cristo del Portezuelo statue, and La Riojana winery, renowned for its award-winning wines.

Participants will have one hour of free time to relax. Following this, we will ascend to Mirador del Monolito for a panoramic view. The excursion lasts approximately 11 hours before returning to your hotel in La Rioja.
