Talampaya & Ischigualasto Day Trip

On this excursion from La Rioja we'll discover landscapes in Ischigualasto and Talampaya, two parks in Argentina.

Tour Details

You'll begin the day leaving from La Rioja to Ischigualasto Park, known as Valley of the Moon Park.

Ischigualasto Park features grey rock formations and water-eroded valleys. The tour includes a walking tour and bus ride over 4 hours, showcasing geological formations with names like the submarine, the worm, or the mushroom. Stops will be made at viewing points, including Valle Pintado and Cancha de Bochas, known for its round grey rocks.

Lunch will be in the park, so bring a picnic basket. After lunch, you'll return to La Rioja for a visit to Talampaya National Park, where you'll take a bus tour of this World Heritage Site.

During the Talampaya tour, you'll view the massive rock walls and learn about the geological history of the park. Following the bus tour, you'll return to La Rioja, arriving back at your hotel around 8 pm.

Note that the entrance fees to Ischigualasto Provincial Park, the entrance fee to Talampaya National Park, and the truck tour of Talampaya are not included in the booking and must be paid on the day of the activity. Fees may vary by season.
