Hoover Dam Half-Day Trip

On the Colorado River, on the border between Nevada and Arizona, you'll find one of the world's largest dams. Join us on this tour to the Hoover Dam and be amazed by this titanic megastructure that was the setting for films such as Superman and Transformers.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at a meeting point of your choice in Las Vegas and drive to Boulder City to get close to the famous Hoover Dam. The minibus ride will take approximately 45 minutes.

We'll learn about Boulder City's important role in the construction of the Hoover Dam and make brief photo stops from viewpoints such as the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Bridge. We'll see the Colorado River and Black Canyon from a vantage point almost 984.2 feet (300 meters) above sea level.

As part of this tour, we'll visit the Lake Mead visitor center to discover the history of the Hoover Dam, built in the 1930s during the Great Depression. We'll learn about its construction, designed to prevent flooding and provide hydroelectric power and irrigation water.

This dam supplies electricity to almost a million people in Nevada, Arizona, and part of California. After a five-hour tour, we'll return you to the starting point.

Tour of the dam + Turbines & generator

Select this ticket option to explore the inner workings of the Hoover Dam. In addition to the outer dam tour, we'll enter the dam to see the turbines and generator room, the Visitor Center, historical exhibits, and the observation platform.

Boat Trip around the Hoover Dam

If you choose this option, we'll take a boat trip on the waters of the Hoover Dam. Note that this option only includes the boat trip view of the Hoover Dam and does not cover the other portions of the itinerary described in the other tour options.
