Description
The region of Provence has three Cistercian abbeys, with one notable abbey located on the outskirts of the town of Le Thoronet. This ticket allows access to Le Thoronet Abbey, a 12th-century monastery built by the Order of Cistercians for spiritual retreat and study of sacred scriptures.
Key areas include The Cloister, the lavabo washing fountain, and the dormitory where monks slept in cells. Visitors can also admire traditional medieval architecture such as the Abbey Church, refectory, sacristy, chapter house, and armariums for liturgical books.
Opening times
Le Thoronet Abbey is open from Monday to Sunday at these times:
October 1 - March 31: 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pmApril 1 - September 30: 10 am to 6:30 pm
On December 24 and 31, the abbey closes at 3:30 pm. The last entry is 45 minutes before closing time. Note that these times are flexible and subject to change.
Free admission
Admission is free for:
EU residents aged 18 to 25 years.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.
Free admission also applies on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, and the third weekend of September. To obtain free entry, visit the ticket office with a certifying document.
