Description
Provence has three Cistercian abbeys, with Le Thoronet Abbey being one of the most notable located near the town of Le Thoronet.
This ticket allows access to the 12th-century monastery built by the Order of Cistercians for spiritual retreat and contemplation.
Key areas include The Cloister, the lavabo washing fountain, and the dormitory where monks slept. Visitors can also view the Abbey Church, refectory, sacristy, chapter house, and armariums for liturgical books.
Opening Times
Le Thoronet Abbey is open daily at the following times:
October 1 - March 31: 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pmApril 1 - September 30: 10 am to 6:30 pm
On December 24 and 31, 2025, it closes at 4 pm. The last entry is 45 minutes before closing. Note that hours may change.
Free Admission
Admission is free for:
Young people (18-25) from the EU.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.
Free admission is also available on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, along with the 3rd weekend of September. To receive free entry, visit the ticket office with proof of eligibility.
