Lecce Guided Visit
Join us for a guided visit of Lecce, meeting at the scheduled time in Piazza Sant'Oronzo. Known as the Florence of the South, Lecce offers a rich historical experience.
As we walk through the historic centre, we will explore sites from the era of the Roman Empire, including the theatre and the amphitheatre, dating back to the 2nd century AD.
The tour includes views of the Castle of Charles V, constructed in 1539, and a stroll past Renaissance buildings like Vernazza Palace and several Baroque churches.
Highlights will be the Church of San Giuseppe and the decorative elements of the Basilica of Santa Croce, including the dragons on its façade, symbolizing the Battle of Lepanto.
We will also visit the exterior of Lecce Cathedral, its square, the Episcopal Palace, and the seminary.
The guided visit lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, concluding back at the starting point.
