Would you like to marvel at the Sistine Chapel of the Romanesque? With this visit to the Museum of San Isidoro de León, you'll discover one of the most important Romanesque complexes in Europe.

Tour Details

We'll meet at the time you choose during the booking process inside the Museum of San Isidoro de León to begin the tour of a major monument in León.

Our journey includes various rooms, including the cloister and chapter house. One significant piece is the Arqueta de los Marfiles, from the 11th century.

The highlight is the Royal Pantheon, also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Romanesque. We will explore the history and details of the frescoes.

We will also visit the main staircase and the chamber of Doña Sancha to view its mural paintings. The tour concludes at the Renaissance Library, which contains about 2,000 volumes and over 100 codices.

Another important piece is the chalice of Doña Urraca, a Romanesque goldsmith piece donated by the Leonese Infanta Urraca of Zamora.

After an hour, we will finish at the entrance to the Museum of San Isidoro.
