Colombian Amazon 2-Day Tour

If you're looking to connect with nature and you're in Leticia, you can't miss this 2-day tour to the indigenous community of La Libertad. We'll discover the great charms of the forest in the far south of Colombia!

Description

Day 1

This 2-day tour will start at your accommodation in Leticia. At the indicated time, we'll pick you up and head to the heart of the Amazon jungle.

We'll board a boat that will take us along the Amazon River, traveling approximately 43 kilometres (26 miles) for an hour and a half, passing charming communities on the riverbank.

Upon arrival at the indigenous community of La Libertad, we'll begin the morning's activities with a visit to the chagra, the community's crops. Here, we'll learn about the importance of agriculture for the Yagua people and its integration into daily life.

Next, we'll embark on an exciting nature walk through the Amazon rainforest for about 1 hour, searching for species such as frogs, tarantulas, and monkeys.

A traditional lunch will be served around midday, offering an opportunity to enjoy the region's authentic food before afternoon activities.

After lunch, there will be time to rest, followed by a canoe ride on the Amazon. With luck, we may see a beautiful sunset over the river.

We'll conclude activities around 5:30 pm and return to the community for dinner. After 8 pm, enjoy a chat with an elder who will share insights into the culture and history of his people.

Day 2

After breakfast at 8 am, we'll participate in a crafts workshop, learning different techniques with community experts.

After this experience, we'll say goodbye to the community and start our journey back to Leticia, scheduled to arrive at 11 am.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's full board accommodation in cabins with private bedrooms and bathrooms. You can choose between a room with a double bed or two single beds when booking.
